OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of the PTO of the Bill Burden Elementary PTO is to:
- Enhance and support the educational experience at BBES
- Strengthen lines of communication between school and home by encouraging parental involvement
- Promote a sense of community
- Support our school through fundraising activities, volunteer services, and enrichment programs that promote the finest education possible for our students.
VALUE OF PTO MEMBERSHIP
The PTO is an organization made up of parents, teachers and other school employees who have an interest in the Bill Burden Elementary children, families, and school itself. By joining the PTO, a member becomes part of a child advocacy group as diverse as the school is in cultures, education levels, and parenting skills.
Joining the PTO supports the efforts at the local level to improve the education of children and the lives of families here in the Liberty Hill Independent School District. Membership provides the opportunity for individuals to raise their voices with others in the community to support children's education and rights. Membership ensures the PTOs voices is heard on issues affecting our young people as well as providing opportunities for parent education, communication, and leadership development.
Getting involved in PTO builds skills in leadership, communication, and advocacy. Active members are a valuable community resource for starting and maintaining projects to benefit our children.
WHY JOIN PTO?
The main reason to join PTO is your child!
Use your PTO membership to:
Make Connections. PTO provides opportunities to meet and network with other parents, teachers, and school administrators. There's no better way to know what's happening in your child's school and community and in helping create a positive and caring atmosphere in the school.
Give Back. By becoming a part of PTO, you will be part of the solution. As you speak up, you will help make positive changes in your child's school and in the lives of many children.
Effectively Engage. Spending quality time with your child through PTO programs, events, and resources not only shows how much you care about them but will also demonstrate the importance you place on their education and helps them perform better academically.
Watch Yourself Grow. As a PTO volunteer, you can use your skills and hobbies for a relevant cause while setting a good example for your child and all children in the community.
